Right in the heart of cottage country, minutes from
Bala, on very popular Lake Muskoka, this two bedroom
cottage, (with bunkie), offers fabulous views across
the lake to Acton Island.
Inside you will find the warmth of traditional
cottage decor. The open concept living room/dining
room/kitchen area, with vaulted ceilings and flooded
with light through the large windows, will be
enjoyed by the whole family. There is plenty of
seating on three comfortable couches in the living
room area, and there is satellite television, a DVD
and CD player. A wood stove will take the chill off
cool evenings. The dining table seats six. The
kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher.
A Muskoka room, entered from the living room or the
deck, is ideal for reading, playing games or cards.
The deck right across the front of the cottage is
the perfect spot for dining, entertaining or simply
relaxing and enjoying the lake views.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed, and the
second bedroom offers two single beds. The
three-piece bathroom has a tub (no shower).
The bunkie, located just behind the cottage, is
outfitted with a two-piece bathroom, and fridge and
stove. The living area of the Bunkie can seat five.
One Bunkie bedroom has a double bed, and the other
has two single beds. Steps from the Bunkie, there is
an outdoor shower with hot and cold water.
The waterfront is highlighted by the boathouse. The
boathouse deck, furnished with a table, chairs and
umbrella, offers the ultimate lake views. To the
right of the boathouse dock, there is a small sandy
beach area with shallow entry. Water, approximately
7ft. deep, can be found at the end of the dock, and
there is a ladder on the dock for getting in and out
of the water. A canoe is provided for those who wish
to explore the bays and lake while getting some
exercise. If you bring your own boat, it can be
launched at Bala Park Island, about 1.5 miles away,
or at Perk�s in Bala.
In the summer, stroll the main street while enjoying
an ice cream, or follow a Muskoka tradition, and buy
scones and chelsea buns at Don's Bakery. Explore the
Bala Museum, which features Lucy Maud Montgomery
(who vacationed in Bala in 1922), famous for the
book, Anne of Green Gables. Bala is home to the
annual Cranberry Festival in October, or take a free
self-guided tour of the cranberry marsh anytime,
year round. Dance the night away at The Kee to Bala,
operating since 1942. For the sports enthusiast,
there are area golf courses, fishing and
waterskiing.
Gravenhurst, a short drive away, features the new
wharf area, home to Grace and Speed, the antique and
classic boat museum at the Muskoka Boat and Heritage
Centre. The famous steamship "Segwun" (built in
1887) and its sister ship "Wenonah II" cruise Lake
Musko
