Description: Nestled at the end of a quiet bay on beautiful Lake Vernon, Dunworkyn Cottage is a wonderful spot for a peaceful family vacation.  The owners of the cottage have thought of everything that is needed to help  vacationers to relax and enjoy a holiday. From the canoe on the lake, to horseshoes and croquet on the lawn, a picnic table near the fire pit, or board games, books, magazines and family videos for those indoor moments this cottage has a wide range of activities to help with a memorable holiday.

This three-bedroom cottage also has a bunkie to add to choice of sleeping areas.  The lot is quite level and the entrance to the lake is shallow, which makes it a good choice for families with children or anyone with mobility issues.

A long porch with wrap-around windows extends across the front of the cottage facing the lake.  This provides great waterfront views and an area for everyone to gather to dine.  The well-treed lot is attractive to wildlife so it is quite likely that a deer, beaver or maybe a mink will be spotted as you sit to enjoy a morning coffee.

The living area of the cottage has seating for six at couches and chairs, and holds a smaller table where a puzzle or board game may be set up.  This can also be an alternative dining spot.

The three bedrooms and a three-piece bathroom run off the eating area.  One bedroom holds a double bed, while the others have two singles in each.

The cottage kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, dishwasher and new refrigerator and microwave,.  An extra bar-fridge is located in the mudroom.

The bunkie provides a separate sleeping area close to the main building and up a set of stairs.  Here there is another two-piece bathroom, with cold water only.  One bedroom contains a double bed and the other room has two single beds.

Sun shines throughout the day onto the six foot  by  36 foot dock at the waterfront.   There is room to moor a boat, and a canoe is provided for exploring the nearby bays of the lake.  Children will enjoy the sandy beach and shallow swimming area; the lake remains at a depth of three feet for about twenty feet out from shore.  A deck at the waterfront provides a comfortable spot to watch the swimmers, catch some rays, or relax in the shade of an umbrella.  A second, narrow deck across the front of the cottage provides a choice of sitting area.

The cottage is located on good roads about twenty minutes from Huntsville.  If a motor boat is rented from Peacock Bay Marine or Huntsville Marine, it is also possible to access the town of Huntsville by water, or to explore the 40 mile chain of lakes that extend from Lake Vernon, through the north Muskoka River into Fairy Lake, Peninsula Lake and through the locks on the Muskoka to Mary Lake.

Places to explore nearby include  Muskoka Pioneer Village in Huntsville, Algonquin and Arrowhear Provincial Parks,  the Algonquin Theatre with its live entertainment,  the interesting shops and restaurants of Huntsville,  or Santas Village in Bracebridge.
